An older book, from the time we remembered to buy businesses not stocks. A good reminder for these times. Buy businesses with track records, who remember they have shareholders who they want to reward for their patience and support

I read this book in the beginning of 2022 but the model itself holds up even if a lot of the specific examples have changed based on time. There are a lot of principles in here that will always apply to companies that pay dividends and judging the value of your purchase at the time. Warren Buffett has said many times that he does not time the market, he merely finds good companies and only buys them at good values. This results in the appearance of him timing the market well when in reality its just a valuation measure.

This book and this method helps tremendously in terms of being able to find those good values regardless of what the market is doing at any given time. It's May 1st, 2022 and we just had the worst January to April since 1939. Over the course of that time, I have beat the market badly while The Dividend Freedom Tribe kept up with the market last year. I am extremely grateful to Geraldine Weiss for writing this book because 30+ years later the model still works and a decent number of us are securing our future using it or more specifically to this moment in time, we aren't losing our future because the method helped us buy undervalued stocks and sell the overpriced ones.

An easily digestible book on dividend investing. It is very dated, but the basics you learn in it still apply to today's markets for the most part (Feb 2022). Good read for people looking to dip their toes into a conservative form of investing. An easily digestible book on dividend investing. Got this book from my library because I was curious about investing. 'Dividends Don't lie' was an interesting and helpful book that explains how the past dividend yield and amount values are critical in assessing a investable stock.

It also explains simple guidelines for discerning blue chip- high value and trusted stocks. There were many past stock-dividend yield graphs that helped my understand sometimes what the author was saying. Would recommend this.
